Updating avg 7
January 14, 2020 is the last day Microsoft will offer security updates and technical support for computers running Windows 7.
We known can be difficult, that’s why we’re reaching out early to help you backup your files and prepare for what’s next.
This coupled with free online support, and a robust cloud-based threat detection method, makes AVG Anti Virus FREE a good overall security suite to have installed on your system.
If you are looking for a simple antivirus, which packs a powerful punch and won’t slow you down your system, then you can’t go far wrong with AVG Anti Virus FREE.
More importantly, there’s a “Do Not Remind Me Again” checkbox at the bottom left corner of the window.
Enable this checkbox and Microsoft will hopefully stop bugging you.
To stop the nag from appearing, all you have to do is avoid installing the update—or remove it if it’s already installed.
The update is titled “Windows 7 SP1 Support Notification.” KB4493132 was first released on March 19, 2019. However, it will remain dormant until April 18, 2019, when the nag messages will start to appear.
Overall, AVG Anti Virus FREE has a low impact on system resources, it has an intuitive feel to it and it is easy to use with a simplified design.
It does not come with a solid firewall, however, as this is included in the more advanced suite, AVG Internet Security–Unlimited.
The great thing about AVG Anti Virus FREE is that whenever the suite encounters an unknown threat, AVG then quickly analyze it, creates a cure and then pushes it out to millions of users, so everyone is better protected.
AVG Anti Virus FREE is a fast, effective and extremely popular antivirus tool, mixing the best of AVAST and AVG's technology.
A stylish and appealing Windows 10 interface makes it easy to see the latest security status for various areas, with panels for "Computer" and "Web & Email" (there's also greyed out "Hacker Attacks", "Private Data" and "Payments" which are modules in the paid-for AVG Internet Security 2019).
